Our mission stems from God’s mission to reach all nations. Our desire is for every member of our church to be involved in missions and outreach in some capacity, whether that involves praying for the lost, going on a short-term trip or giving financially to support God’s work. We all have a role to play in spreading the gospel to all nations.
We are personally connected and invested with missionaries from various organizations. Each year we send one or two short-term teams to partner with one of our missionary’s ongoing ministry in various areas around the world including Mexico, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. In addition to this focused effort, as a Southern Baptist church, we financially give to the International Missions Board (IMB) which supports thousands of missionaries around the world.
If you are interested in serving on an upcoming short-term trip please contact Pastor Martin – firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Living Nativity
For over 30 years our church has told the most famous story of all time – the birth of Jesus Christ! Every year over 2,500 people attend to see the live reenactment of how the Son of God humbled himself as a baby in order to save the world. With 8 performances taking place the week before Christmas, this outreach requires hundreds of volunteers giving countless hours. Save the date for 2018: December 14, 15, 16.
Love La Habra – lovelahabra.com
Once or twice a year the entire community of La Habra is invited to come together to help one another. Service projects often include yard work, painting, general clean up, planting trees and more. This is a great opportunity for families to serve our city together.
Women’s Pregnancy Care Clinic – wpcc4life.org
This clinic assists and serves young women with resources and counseling concerning unplanned pregnancies. They provide support groups, pro-life events, Bible studies, ultrasounds and more. You can get involved by volunteering, supporting their annual “Walk4Life” event and becoming a monthly donor.
Good News Clubs
Members from our church are involved in several Good News Clubs where we get to teach Bible stories to kids on their school campus in an after-school program. We have seen dozens of kids come to Jesus and get connected to a local church through this ministry. If you are interested in helping teach or assist, please call the church office for more information.
Thanksgiving Meal Distribution
Each November we provide a complete Thanksgiving meal to families in need. If you know someone who could use this support you can sign up to bring them a meal. We also need a number of deliverers to help drop off meals at houses and take the time to pray with the family.
Operation Christmas Child – samaritanspurse.org
Help fill and distribute Christmas presents around the world! You can fill a box (or two!) with toys and supplies that get delivered to children in dozens of countries. Each box is accompanied with a gospel message in their language. Look for boxes to be available in October and returned later in November.
Disaster Relief – namb.net
When it comes to responding to disasters in our cities, states or other countries, teams must be trained and ready. This ministry helps clean up areas that have been effected by hardship and care for their needs by providing care, meals and the hope of the gospel. If you are interested in joining the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief team visit the website above.
